Worms Armageddon portable - Windows 10, 8, 7, XP, x64 & x86 Worms Armageddon portable, funciona en todos los Windows. Solo hay que descomprimirlo y ejecutarlo.
Tszcheetah: I hadn't seen this one yet when I contacted them. Might give it another shot.I did check with procmon and noticed a continuous loop of opening winmm.dll by the Worms 2 Frontend. I'll see if your solution works later this week, if it does I'll get in touch with GOG support again.Previously I also managed to fix a few of the game's files by hand, so a match would at least launch with some default settings/terrain/etc. This was also choppy, but the Windows 8+ fixes referred to on this forum can help with that (plus it'll run in a higher resolution too). Those fixes might also help you.UPDATE It works! For others: see for the download link.1.
Rename win32.dll from the Worms 2 installation folder to e.g. Rename winmm.dll from the downloaded zip file to win32.dll3. Put the fixed win32.dll in the Worms 2 installation folder4. Right-click 'frontend.exe', choose Properties, Compatibility, then set it to run with 'Windows XP (Service Pack 3)' compatibility. This will solve some issues like hanging on shut-down or after a match.5. Get the ReSolution patch from and install it to the Worms 2 installation folder. This will solve choppy and low-res gameplay in matches, replacing it with buttersmooth hi-res goodness.6.
Play the game.FYI: I didn't actually need any of the other files from the winmm zip. You might still get a warning that the application may not have closed properly right before the intro movie shows, but I'll happily ignore that. Thanks to DrakeFox above and StepS at for the tips! DrakeFox: Well done to test out the ReSolution patch and finding the WinXP SP3 thing. Now all that seems left is to get music working again. NebuchadnezzarII: So you can get it to work on Win 10 even without the cd?
I don't know about the 'Without the CD' bit.The Gog version works fine on my Windows 10 after applying the updated win32.dll file from tszcheetah.Just tried it again, starts up fine and plays well.Note though, the win32.dll file is actually a patch to make the game play music without the CD. The.dll (as far as I can tell) replaces functions in the original.dll file in Windows which would play CD audio with code that plays.ogg files using the same calls as would be used for CD-audio.If you have the CD version you would need to rip the audio tracks yourself. Also I don't know if the retail version of Worms 2 comes with disc based copy protection, or if the only thing it required the CD for was music.
Just downloaded the game, Worms 2, and found that all I can get is the opening worms destroying each other video clips, then I get booted out with a frontend.exe application error that says, 'The application was unable to start correctly click OK to close (0xc0000022).' I have tried all the fixes listed in this forum to no avail.
I then found a tip about disabling the AV program, in this case avast, and I got the opening video scene instead of the worms destroying each other video clips, then same error. What am I missing, aside from being able to play this great game, that would allow me to enjoy playing this game again? What am I missing, aside from being able to play this great game, that would allow me to enjoy playing this game again? Follow this link:/. I always get the following error message on Win 10 when I try to start the game, no matter what I do: 'It looks like this application did not exit correctly. If your system stopped working normally click Yes for recovery mode.' But the game doesn't even start. So the only way to play the game is to replace 'frontend.exe' with the original file from the CD version, as some guys mentioned before.
In this case the cd/image must be inserted/mounted. Also it is important that you start the game via 'frontend.exe' (compatabillity mode Win XP SP3), otherwise it won't work.
