Playing next to someone is the most fun way to enjoy this game. Review: Nidhogg 2 I consider Nidhogg one of the must-own local multiplayer games for anyone who might ever find themselves in a position to play games with friends.
It seems to me that some people like 1 but feel 2 has robbed the franchise of it's style. As someone who has never played either I would say 2 offers more maps, more weapons and has a fun if somewhat gory graphic style that befits the fast pace of play (based upon YouTube videos). What are other people's thoughts please?Edit: Thanks for your thoughts, here are some people (Stumpt) playing Nidhogg 2 which includes a brief look at some of the options for setting up games. I think the art style is growing on me, to be honest. It's weird, sure, but it's not horrible or anything. Just a stark contrast.I wonder how the core gameplay has changed, if there's any iteration there or if it's just Nidhogg with different graphics and more levels.
Loved the first game and played it a ton. I'd like to see more verticality, weapons/shields, and potentially powers added. Might be cool. Also additional game modes like story mode (but with actual story instead of just the bot fights).
